We see from many years that there are very big slow down in placements in National level institutions like NITs and IITs,number of companies visiting campus decreases and those visit gives low packages .but after slow down of some years Indian Institute of Technology,Kharagpur booming in 2014 Placement.
3 students offered 1.5 crore ($250,000) salary package from facebook in IIT,Kharagpur,and also some students in IIT,Bombay,which is unknown yet.The job profile is for Software Engineer based of California.
"If this momentum continues, we will place 1,200 students in the first 20 days compared to 1,000 last year," a placement team member of IIT-Kharagpur said.
According to campus sources, included Samsung $150,000 (Rs 93 lakh), Microsoft $129,000 (Rs 80 lakh), Oracle $125,000 plus Esops (Rs 78 lakh plus Esops), Google $125,000 (Rs 78 lakh) and Visa $140,000 (Rs 87 lakh).
IIT Kharagpur officials said the salary package was among the 163 offers made by 27 visiting companies yesterday on the first day of campus placements.
The highest number of offers (24) was made by niche analytics consulting company EXL Service Pvt Ltd followed by international brands like Visa, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Cisco, Microsoft IDC.
